Book An Educational Experience

1. Local Schools & Community Groups – Free Educational Visits
We love connecting with local schools and community groups to share the importance of honu conservation. These sessions are free and open to all ages!

To enhance the experience, participants can adopt a honu and learn about its story during the visit. We can even showcase the adopted honu at your event, making the experience more personal and memorable.

Contact Debbie Herrera, our Volunteer Education Coordinator, to schedule your visit: debbie@malamainahonu.org

2. Off-Island Visitors – Immersive Beach Education Experience
For groups visiting Hawaii from the mainland, we offer a premium educational experience at Laniakea Beach.

In Hawaiian culture, the honu is often regarded as ‘aumakua—a guardian spirit or deified ancestor. Our team of Citizen Scientists and experienced educators share the significance of ‘aumakua while providing an in-depth, hands-on learning experience about Hawaiian Green sea turtles, coastal ecosystems, and conservation science.

What each participant receives:

  • Personalized name badge with lanyard
  • Educational packet including flyers, bookmarks, charts, and basking data of an individual honu
  • Opportunity to engage in outreach at Laniakea Beach
  • Every program is customizable to meet your group’s needs, while staying true to our mission: to provide education, raise public awareness, and share meaningful conservation data.

Cost: Starting at $45 per person
